We developed a new Safe Practitioner framework using feedback from our consultation in 2022-23.

The Safe Practitioner
The Safe Practitioner is a framework of behaviours and outcomes for dental professional education. We are working with education providers to transition over to the new learning outcomes, which will take effect from September 2025. The revised learning outcomes and behaviours for each profession can be downloaded below:
- Clinical Dental Technician
- Dentist
- Dental Hygienist
- Dental Nurse
- Dental Technician
- Dental Therapist
- Orthodontic Therapist
By the academic year 2030/31, all education providers will be mapped against the Safe Practitioner framework.
